Well known North East musician and NETOA Friend BOB CHILTON will present a wide variety of music at the Mighty Wurlitzer & Piano to entertain you for the afternoon. Following the great success of the concert which he presented last year in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief, which raised over £1,500 for the charity, Bob wishes to donate the proceeds of this concert to NETOA funds to thank them for their assistance and support.

It is a pleasure to welcome two first rate musicians to play at the New Victoria Centre this month: ROBERT BALFOUR-ROWLEY may not be a name known to many, for the simple reason that he is usually too busy working on organs to take concert bookings for playing them!  Robert did play at Howden several years ago at a ‘Youth at the Console’ concert, but then went on to pursue a career in organ building, working with the world famous Durham firm of Harrison & Harrison before starting his own company with his wife, Abi, who is also a professional organ builder.  Rob certainly knows his way around theatre organs and has worked on the Cinema Organ Society’s big 4 manual Wurlitzer in the Troxy cinema in Stepney, east London as well as having done some excellent tonal regulation work on the NETOA Wurlitzer in the New Victoria Centre and you will find that he has a playing style which is refreshingly different and always entertaining. LAUGHS and THRILLS in Black and White as one of the screen’s funniest actors, HAROLD LLOYD, has you gripping your seats in two of his greatest movies!  The short title ‘HAUNTED SPOOKS’ (1920) has Harold and co-star Mildred Davis dealing with a house that has a little ghost problem and the main feature is the classic 1923 film ‘SAFETY LAST’ in which Harold ends up doing some hair-raising stunts – don’t try this at home! JONATHAN EYRE will be playing a short concert before the films and providing a live musical accompaniment to Harold’s on-screen antics. PLEASE NOTE:  This is an AFTERNOON performance!
