It has been too long since Donald has been able to free himself from his engagements as resident House Organist at the prestigious Odeon cinema in Leicester Square in London to come to the New Victoria Centre to play for us, so it is with pleasure that we welcome his return!  As well as being a seasoned player of the cinema / theatre organ, Donald is one of the UK’s foremost exponents of the art of silent movie accompaniment and with a bit of luck he may find time to include a short silent film in his programme.

The Friends of the North East Theatre Organ Association who enjoy playing the organ (& piano) come along this afternoon to play both for their own enjoyment and to entertain anyone who wishes to come along and listen, have a chat and / or a cup of tea, coffee, etc. Just enjoy a relaxing and informal afternoon in a friendly atmosphere! Admission £4.00 – Pay at the Door

Kevin was one of the organists who was able to play a ‘virtual’ online concert for us during the time when we were unable to have ‘live’ audiences in the hall at the New Victoria Centre due to Covid restrictions, but now he returns to play a full concert for us.  As well as playing organs all around the country, Kevin also keeps very busy restoring theatre organs and running concerts and other events using his own Compton theatre organs at the Astoria Centre in Barnsley and the nearby ‘Paramount’ cinema in Penistone.

The NETOA Friends ‘ALL STARS’ entertain at the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ and Grand Piano + The Friends’ Annual Players Awards cups will be presented to the winners who have been voted for during the 2022 season + Enjoy a delicious Afternoon Tea during the Interval Note: Places for the afternoon tea are limited and it must be ordered in advance (Concert admission with Tea or Coffee and Biscuits only is priced at £4.00 – Pay at the Door)

David Lowe plays our organ almost every month of the year – when he comes to tune it!  (So you can be certain he knows his way around it!)  Of course, his association with the original New Vic organ goes back to the 1960s when he played it in the vast space of the Gaumont (as it was then known) cinema in Bradford and he has been a regular visitor to Howden le wear over the years as well. So came along and enjoy all of your Christmas favourites + join in with a few Christmas songs and carols to get you in the festive mood!
