Yorkshire’s International theatre organist SIMON GLEDHILL in concert at the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ
It is always a pleasure to welcome Simon back to the New Vic Wurlitzer and he returns to play a concert originally scheduled for 2020, but twice postponed due to Covid! Simon is no stranger to Howden le Wear, having played here many times, including at the re-opening concert following the major refurbishment of the organ in 2006 and he has recorded a CD on the organ entitled ‘Sunny Side of the Street’ (which is available from our ‘Sales’ page!). He is also a regular visitor to the USA where he frequently plays at the American Theatre Organ Society’s annual ‘convention’.
Simon will be paying homage to the music of Hollywood in his concert, showcasing the work of just some of the many famous stars, studios and composers who have worked there over many years, so why not come along and enjoy Simon’s unique stylings and arrangements on our Mighty Wurlitzer?
