Con Docherty plays the New Victoria Centre Wurlitzer Organ

Category:

Description

NETOA Patron Con Docherty took part in a special performance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of VE Day at the Odeon, Leicester Square in London and he recorded the same programme for this CD on the New Vic Wurlitzer a few weeks later.  Con was an organist for the Gaumont British circuit and spent much of the war entertaining the troops in far flung parts of the Empire (and we don’t mean Glasgow Empire!).  His selection of well known tunes old and new contrasts the themes of love and war.
